Help me come up with a plan

Hi all,

I posted this once before, but it has been a while so I'll give it another shot...

My end goal is IBD. If possible, I'd like to be a career banker (or at least stay until I'm booted out). However, I am having trouble landing interviews--even for boutiques. I am hoping you guys can help me craft a plan of attack in order to break into IB. Here is my current situation:

School: Top LAC (Think Williams, Amherst, Middlebury) GPA: Less than stellar (~3.1-3.2 in a 'soft' major) ECs: Head of various clubs while at school, also an athlete. Currently volunteer once a week at a soup kitchen.

WE: Have been doing structuring since graduation at a boutique for ~1 yr (sole analyst). No hard modelling on the job, but lots of knowledge on different structures (i.e. Delaware series trust, 114 trusts, escrow accounts..things like that). Frankly, most of my day is spent doing market research, on conference calls, and other ad-hoc things. Have been studying for ib interviews though.

The million dollar question: How can I get into IB? Should I just keep working and try to get into a good b-school (if that's possible) and recruit from there, or is there a chance to lateral?
