Help me get through this

Hello , first time poster here.

My story is kind of an odd one. I've been attending Bocconi business school (target school in italy) , degree in corporate economy and management. Very good grades the first two years , then i had some family health issues that forced me to stay at home for a year and a half to take care of my parents , i had to skip two whole years to this reason. This made my average grades lower and couldn't find a decent internship that allowed me to also stay in the city where i'm living. My situation is now this :

-5th year , almost completed my degree. -No internship or exchange program due to the difficulties stated above. -27/30 average grade -Right now is the time to get into my master degree. Finance is impossible due to the high request and my two skipped years and no intership (they'll affect my ranking for the chance of getting into the Msc). -My two possibilities are AFC (administration , finance and control , where i can get a major in corporate finance and also many courses are pertaining to accounting) and Management , with the second year major in Finance. -Not possible to go abroad since Bocconi is the only unversity that i can attend to having also a complete tuition exemption.

I've always loved finance , and from the first year I was aiming and managing to do my best in getting a job in IB. You know the rest of the story. Some questions:

-Academically speaking , If i can't get into the AFC Msc , which is a decent way to get into IB (my chances of being admitted are 50-50) do you think the Msc in management with a major in Finance will be frowned upon , or even if it isn't pure finance i can get internship/opportunities?

-Will my lost years be a massive burden? especially not having had an internship? (usually at my uni is taken between the first and second year of msc and the second semester of the first year). I mean, It's not like i lost two years because i partied too much. Also losing one-two years during the university here in italy is very common.

-The only luck i had is having met my friend girlfriend and being friends with her. Her cousin is a vice-director (i think) at a BB IB and would like to help me by giving me his mail contact / number. If I can get it , what should be my next move? I don't think cold-calling is the right answer! Networking magicians , give me some tips!

-Assuming excellent grades in the next two years , but no opportunity in getting into IB directly. Where should i go to have a chance later? Big 4 are recruiting conitnuously in my Uni, so getting into accounting -> transaction services -> IB? getting an MBA? Maybe a smaller boutique?

-What could i do to compensate what I missed? My resume is has only these strenghts other than pure grades: -I know 4 languages , learning the 5th -these years i learned coding , C , Java , SQL and such -I was class and university representant in my years there ,active in uni associations/tv and such -Had a job as PR for two years for clubs in Milan , helping me pay some of the expenses i had

I'm really blowing off some steam here, I really had some rough years and maybe just need some encouragement. I really had a good start and then everything went to s***, i feel like I lost so much time and opportunities. Any opinion is welcome , I know what are the standard ways to get into IB but i'm really uncapable of making a rational plan of attack that is not affected by my hopes/fears. I really need some objective opinions/ideas. I can't stress enough how important this is to me.

Thanks In advance!
