HELP! Need Advice... am I screwed for a background check?

On my full-time recruitment resume, I have one job experience listed that was pretty casual -- it was for a small start-up run by an ex-friend who I am no longer in contact with, so there isn't any real official documentation or anything of my work confirmation there. And further, it was a pretty BS role. Now my firm is having me fill out a U-4 for a third-party to background check, which I learned involves them calling past contacts at firms to verify employment.

My ex-friend and I, who I would list as my employer, have been pretty distant after a personal issue mid-college... what should I do here? I'm having intense paranoia that this grudge may be used against me beyond the lack of documentation. Am I screwed?

no...its not an issue...the background check is for your grades and graduation (because lots of people lie about that) and criminal record. Working at the local hardware store...nobody cares, and nobody checks.

just google it...you're welcome

imagine a company went out of business..there is nobody to call and confirm...or if your previous boss left and you don't know the current people. why would the new employer care? answer - they don't care.

just google it...you're welcome
