Help with Private Banking Offer

Hello. So I have an offer to join a private banking/ PWM team in a local office for Merrill Lynch. ML does not do the typical analyst > associate > VP > etc. role like other BBs. I was hoping I could get some advice on this jobs impact of my career. Would this be a good first job out of college? Would it open up other opportunities with gained experience? What about looking good on my resume to get into a top MBA program?

I don't know if PB is my long term plan but it is one of the few options I have right now. I have a 4.0 in college and started my own business in college, but did not go to a target school so that is what holding me back from something like IB (even with my countless networking hours).

I also have an offer from GS in middle office operations as an analyst on the sales and trading team.

Please advise!
Thanks

I would take the middle office GS offer, the ML opportunity sounds like a glorified sales role and unless you really like having to drive your own sales/create your own client book, the GS one sounds a hell of a lot better.
