Hired as an analyst for O&G, what's next?
I got hired as an analyst for O&G in a bulge bracket back office (India- so that's like far far back office). I am a fresh out of college petroleum engineer graduate, and I have ZERO idea about IB world. Most of my knowledge about IBs come from WSO and the books that are recommended (So far I have read Monkey business and Liar's Poker). I have no clue as to what direction my career will take to.
Should I try to move towards the front end or should I try to get into technical petroleum companies. Or should I try and get an MBA a few years down the line.
Please help in career guidance by defining the possible career paths ahead.
(I'd like a best case and a worst case scenario).
Thank you.
