Hired FT. Now what?

So I was hired to a specific group of an investment bank about a month ago. Because the group did their own recruiting there is no sell day or anything. I met with most of the team during my interviews. Training doesn't start until July. Is there any sort of contact I should be expecting before they send me details about training? Is it just me or is it weird to be hired and then expect radio silence for 6 or 7 months?

Radio silence is not completely unheard of, but it would be weird if they contacted you every other day. If I were you, I would reach out to the bankers each month or so just to be kept up and slowly work your way into the team - you don't want your start date to be awkward, but you don't want to be put to work til 2am before you start either. Touching base is perfectly acceptable, and odds are you will receiving emails every so often anyway whether from other teammates, HR on training/paperwork stuff, etc. Enjoy your freedom and check this article out for more on preparing for your life as a banker. Good luck, and remember, the time will go fast and once it's gone you are, officially, an on-call banker - enjoy this while you can.
