HireRight - Background check

Hi all,

I just got an email from HireRight for my background check and have a few questions.

Thanks upfront to anyone who can answer.

1) I have 4 experiences listed on my CV, one was a school consulting club and one was unpaid PWM off the books. Hence, I just did not list them. Will this be a problem? It is on my CV.

2) I went to a private 4 year, then transferred to a community college, and then to a big state school. My GPA was shit first two schools, never listed on my resume. I did not add them for previous education because my reasoning was: “my degree is not from there”. Is this a problem?

3) I contacted my previous work colleagues for references, but no one responded. What happens then?

Just a bit paranoid here.

As a rule, I would be as thorough as possible. List all higher educational institutions attended even if you did not receive a degree there. Include all professional experience, both paid and unpaid, regardless of whether you consider it to be "on the books" or not. Not sure how/where you are listing school clubs, but for me there was no section for that or way for them to verify. There is no reason to contact any of your colleagues. HireRight will reach out on your behalf to essentially confirm your title and dates of employment. If they can't get in touch or cannot verify, they will note that and the steps they took to try in the report. HR likely won't care if that happens. What they really care about is the degree/college attended, as well as all the criminal checks (and other basic government-related stuff).

These guys are fucking bonkers. They literally asked where I went to school back in 2013 and questioned why there’s a gap between two grades during middle school. Can’t believe my company is saving money on background check and bringing in these fucking clowns.
