HL M&A group vs coverage group
Does anyone know the difference between Houlihan’s M&A group and their coverage groups? I thought coverage teams handled their own M&A. Is the M&A group just a generalist group ?

In Industry group, we bring in m&a group for any more complex public m&a related transactions basically, so yes they are generalist, some sharp guys, but yeah we do m&a in coverage groups, they are just sort of a support group for certain transactions
Thanks for the reply. From an analyst’s perspective, is the day to day much different between the two groups? Are there any major downsides to being in the M&A group compared to being in coverage?
Honestly not totally sure, but would imagine its a good experience over there, they are mainly execution focused so less BS work. Think I've seen some solid exits too, don't remember to where tho. Smaller group I think.
