I've seen a few older threads, but I was wondering what the current reputation that Houlihan Lokey has. I'm interested in their reputation on the street vs other MM banks, and if anyone could tell me about the best groups within Houlihan (non-RX, CF). Thanks!

Which office and group?
HL culture is really good, and it seems like they actually do care about their employees (they had the best Covid relief package, by far) whereas most banks just claim they do. They really do crush the volume play in the MM, and the RX practice keeps them afloat during economic downturns, so you are going to get exposure to a ton of different deals at every stage of the process with a surprising amount of autonomy. Obviously, they are known for RX but their CF groups are still great and focus on 90% M&A. They really don't have a weak CF group, but you want to work out of the office that the group is based out of (will help your deal flow immensely).
What are considered the strongest non-Rx groups?
Consumer (particularly Food & Bev in Chicago), Healthcare, Business Services (specifically professional and TES), Industrials

Big office party budget I hear. Heard the LA office went all out for the holiday party.

Great bank great people and most of all great comp. Good experience for your first gig and also a good place to cultivate relationships

Solid group with good growth (particularly GP Stakes) and culturally similar to the rest of the bank. Still a relatively new group within the bank and compared to the incumbent players within PCA / PFG.
