How are we looking on the IBD job front?
Currently seeing a lot of posting for MDs at boutiques and MMs. Typical Associate/Junior VP offerings from Michael Page/Shebly J. and the other usual headhunters. Anyone having luck with getting interviews outside of the normal scheduled hiring cycle?
Those two recruiting firms are jokes. Don't pay them any attention.
Agreed. And Coda Search. They just gather every possible CV, throw them at the wall, and see what sticks. None of those are as tailored and as supportive as a true headhunting/recruiting group (Glocap, Dynamic, Robin Judson, etc.).
Relative to the OPs question...depends what market you're looking at, and if its entry-level or experienced.
I've noticed real estate coverage groups hiring at a number of banks for experienced hires in the US (JPM, JMP, SunTrust). Other random openings are always popping up across different groups.
Out of curiosity OP what do you define as the normal hiring schedule.
I've seen a decent amount of lateral analyst openings (I recently lateraled from non-IBD). In the past year, I've seen Baird, JPM, Goldman, DB, CS, HL and a ton of boutiques.
Selby jennings is an absolute waste of time.
