I love my family and try my best to talk with my parents and siblings on a regular basis but it can be tough with the demanding job and trying to live my own life outside of work at times. Also family issues and stress can be overwhelming for me on top of this job which makes me sad.

Try calling them around the afternoon if you can, a quick 5-10min call is good enough to see how the family is. Shoot them a text if you wanted to talk when heading home, but other then that the weekends are pretty much the "best" time to have a longer talk with family and friends.
