How did you do it?
Hey Guys,
For those of you, who didn't get a BB/EB SA your junior year, how did you break into the industry? I feel pretty disappointed in myself, I was late and didn't resonate with the people I networked with.
I want to work in PE long-term and am from a nontarget, so I know I need to get a decent BB role if I even want to stand a chance in recruiting. what should I do? and what did you do to get your FT and break into your dream banking/PE role?
Network like your life depends on it
You could try to go the MM boutique route and then try to lateral into a larger bank. Just make sure it’s a good MM boutique that has deal flow and closes deals, if it’s not you’re going to be pretty miserable and you won’t develop the necessary skills you’ll need at a larger bank.
