How do freshman nepo internships look?

I’ve been seeing some blatant nepo on LinkedIn. Like top SMs, MF PE, top VCs during freshman summer. Will recruiters think you are legit if you have Apollo summer analyst on your resume, or is it a dead giveaway

What does that have to do with anything? I'm not a nepo kid, I'm just saying I don't think anyone gives a shit. If you interned at Apollo and you learned from people at Apollo and you worked on Apollo stuff, you still interned there. Doesn't really matter how you got in.

Yes, people can tell it's nepo, doesn't mean they throw away the resume. Tonnes of kids have nepo shit, even if it's not Apollo, getting any sort of IB/PE internship in freshman year is usually via nepotism.

An impressive internship is an impressive internship... if people are otherwise well-qualified and interview well, they are not penalized down the road for having great connections to get these slots early on in their career.

There will always be people who start on third base or have more connections/wealth than you do. It's a very small portion of interns, the majority of people are hustling. Try not to let it bother you

Knowing how most interns aren’t actually giving much responsibility and are not doing meaningful work, if I felt someone was a nepo candidate i would throw their resume in the trash. Same goes with anyone with diversity related experiences like seo or fellowship programs.
