How do you guys manage your fight against time?

This website probably attracts the best 5% of my age-mates. So how do you guys balance your time? Dont get me wrong I do have dreams and aspirations to have the best career as possible (for money, for network, for opportunities etc) but I also want a good non-career life too. I want to play my once a week soccer session, I want to continue sparring in martial arts, I'm a religious man which means daily worship, I want to socialise with friends and looking at the hours people do at the elite firms in consulting, IB working 12 hours+ at least, can I have a life and a good career? it makes me sick having to trade off between the two, perhaps I can work my way up the ladder at a decent firm and still have a life, but I'd have regrets about not choosing a better pathway. And if I work at an elite firm and be forced to drop my life things, I'd have regrets too. Its a catch 22, and its annoying.

I'm sure most people have a life outside of work and work at elite firms like Goldmans and Mckinseys, so how do you balance the different categories of your life? And people who are more senior, what do you do? And to the 40+ year olds, do you have regrets working at an elite firm? Do you think you should of have had a more chill career so you can have more of a life?
