How hard would it be to recruit for Chicago IB coming from a top target?
I’ve realized that I don’t want to work in finance long-term and would simply like to make as much money as possible in a 2-year stint before pursuing my master’s degree abroad and pivoting careers. Thus, Chicago IB has been on my radar as the city that’ll give me the most take-home pay after two years (especially if I’ll be at an EB).
However, I’m not at a Chicago school, I’m at HYPW. Naturally, the expectation is to pursue NYC IB, but I’d like to live in NYC later in my career (perhaps after I finish my master’s degree) where I’d have an improved WLB to enjoy the greatest city in the world more.
All things considered, is it realistic to recruit for Chicago IB coming from my school? If yes, does anybody have any advice to offer for recruiting for Chicago EBs (will recruit for BBs as well of course, but I’m mainly gunning for EBs)?
Thank you in advance.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, recruiting for Chicago IB from a top target like HYPW is absolutely realistic, but it does require a tailored approach. Here's what you need to know:
1. Recruiting for Chicago IB from a Non-Chicago School
2. Targeting Chicago EBs
3. Recruiting for BBs
4. Key Challenges
5. Actionable Tips
6. Exit Opportunities
In summary, recruiting for Chicago IB from HYPW is realistic, but it requires a focused strategy. By networking effectively, tailoring your story, and targeting the right firms, you can position yourself for success. Good luck!
