How long - Recently joined a fund
Hi. I recently joined a fund and it is clear that it is not working out on both sides. The work chemistry is not there and I would say the culture and the investment styles are not compatibility.
My question is, how long would one have to stay before starting to look for a new gig?
Start looking immediately, otherwise they may cut you before you have something lined up. If it's apparent on your end that it is not working, it's probably doubly apparent to the management of the fund. How fast you get shown the door depends on how ruthless the firm is, but I've seen it happen in as little as one or two months where I work. If it's a larger firm, you probably have more time all else equal, smaller firm, less time all else equal.
What are your thoughts on future employers seeing that you are interviewing for new job after a few months?
