If I have a friend who is an MD at a BB in a non-banking role (S&T), how much can they help with the banking recruiting process? He told me they have an internal referral system, but he also said that his secretary could send this same referral so he isn't sure how much weight it actually holds. Do non-bankers have any sway in helping you land a job in IB at their bank?
