Three summer internships is way too many - are these like 4 weeks each? Or are you double/tripling up on internships (that's a huge no-no in finance?).

Either way, less helpful than having just one quality one. You should have 1 longer internship, 8-10 weeks, MAYBE 2 but 3 internships are practically useless especially since they are all over the place on industry.

And those do not make up for GPA. You do get a bit more leeway at a target, but it would depend on how far below 3.5 you are... 3.42 is a lot different than 3.2. Sorry to be harsh but you need to really hustle to get GPA up in fall semester. Maybe take summer classes if your school offers them.

I would pick whichever interests you most... know you wanted to use these to figure that out a bit but multiple internships at once at conflicting firms is a bad idea. Distressed/RX IB recruiting will probably not be in reach given how competitive that is. If you want IB I would probably stick with boutique IB, try to stretch that to 8 weeks or so.

Round to 3.5 is fine. For next semester I would load up on GPA booster classes - now is the time to take whatever core classes you can - history 101, intro to basketweaving etc. If you need any specific harder classes to stay on track that's fine, but intentionally give yourself a lighter load. Between recruiting and class you'll be busy and you want to make sure you have time for it.

Target or no target, as a non-diversity your GPA should be above 3.7 so focus on getting a perfect 4.0 this fall. Outside of that, I’d only do the boutique internship for the whole summer. You won’t impress anyone by having done 3 and the boutique is the only one that will help your IB technicals. With that GPA of yours, banks are going to have no mercy on your technicals!
