UBS continues to underperform in the IB and failed to grow this quarter. Evidence there is some truth to what some monkeys on the inside are saying:

They’ve assembled an army of Yes men, and everyone is afraid to say the truth to leadership that they are collectively continuing to make terrible decisions on a day to day basis when it comes to client selection, coverage and senior hiring
Do you think their group CEO needs to step down? I feel like he's not making things much better, atleast not showing it.
Another year of shitty analyst bonuses confirmed
If the year starts with a 2, shitty analyst bonuses confirmed
Stop pretending you work at UBS. There are a lot of problems, but analyst pay is not one of them. Top bucket for An2 was 100+. As long as you were not bottom bucket you were paid at least street bonuses.
yes bro UBS is such a great place to work!!11!!1! Gorillion dollars coming next quarter!
Congrats on UBS!
Can we please stop making these threads?
Can UBS stop losing market share? Same Answer
Lmao not even $200mm in advisory revenue globally, so probably less than $100mm in the US. Why even bother doing M&A
UBS should just fire all coverage groups and only do passive / joint lead LevFin and ECM work
Yeah I remember them saying they were catching up to the biggest banks with 400-500 MDs, so pretty low revenue per MD
Suspect 30-60% of their MDs have $0 advisory revenue this year
Isn’t this basically what HSBC did in EMEA
UBS stock up 38% in last year lmao
Not a surprise as markets is pulling their weight and majority of the income of the bank is WM
All macro because UBS peers up significantly more
I don’t think they really care. UBS stock is up 20% YTD.
I want to be clear, I’m NOT a UBS apologist and couldn’t care less about these UBS threads (other than the 10+ created daily… annoying). But their advisory and IB downfall seemingly has no impact on how the markets perceive them.
Global banking as a business line is being held up by very strong trading revenue. M&A advisory revenue in the Americas is ridiculously small in comparison and so it doesn’t even move the needle.
