How to actually become a good intern during my off-cycle
Hello all,
I hope all is well.
I am currently an M&A intern in a French bank, before that I only worked in Public Administration, as that what has interested me in the first place, it was a lot of redaction, a lot of regulation, a bit of financial modelling, but it was never advisory per se.
I am 3 weeks deep in my internship (that lasts 6 months) and I feel so slow in doing everything, for market research for instance I make very detailed notes the same as the ones I presented for board members representing the Government in companies for instance, and I feel like it takes me more time than it should.
In Excel I haven't used a lot of the features they use and the Analyst just expects me to know it someone even though in the interview i clearly said my Excel knowledge is limited because I never had to work on such complex models.
How can I step up my game ? I feel like I'm still in that bureaucratic Public Administration/ Development Finance Institution mindset and It's making me feel stupid
Thanks all
