How to compose email?

I found this internship opportunity online that is located near me. On their page they said that I should send them an email with my resume. How would I go about this?

It's a small boutique bank so I dont think I'm shooting my email into the black hole.

In the e-mail you could include a brief description of who you are, school you are from, etc. All the pertinent information in a more communicative manner than a resume. Almost like a cover letter probably just not as long, and then attach your resume.

They just want your email to be a standard cover letter - it can be a bit briefer than that - a few paragraphs or less should suffice. Essentially, highlight how you learned of the position, why you are interested in the position and the firm, your qualifications (education and experience) and how you can be reached. Include your resume, thank them in advance and your done.
