How to convert a summer internship

Hey everyone,

I’m about to start my summer internship in investment banking with a sector team, and I am really hoping to convert this into a full-time analyst position. This role is with a bank and a sector I’m really passionate about, so I’m committed to make a lasting impression.

That said, I didn’t manage to convert my internship last year into a full-time offer. This had left me unsure about what I could have done differently and what I should focus on this time around to make sure I get return offer.

I would really appreciate any advice or strategies that worked for you when converting your internship into a full-time role, or any key qualities you would, or would not, hope to see in an incoming intern.

Additionally, any advice on how to build strong relationships with the team, and how to add value beyond just the technical work (e.g., communication, initiative, etc.) would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
