How to leverage and AM internship, into an IB role next summer

Hi all,

Firstly quick introduction, currently a 2nd year Accounting and Finance, University student at a Russel Group university and have successfully landed an internship on the buy-side this summer with a leading UK Asset Manager! I'm looking forward to the experience: learning new skills, meeting highly professional fund managers, etc. However, my aspirations are to move into advisory, because that skillset is what intrigues me most, and is a sector where my main interest currently lie.

My summer plan is currently: - Summer school Course at leading international university: Corp Fin and IB - Intern @ UK Investment Management group - One week Trading training with Amplify

Can anyone give me any tips on how I can use this to leverage into an advisory IB role, next summer or even into an IB grad role? I know this is very early but some apps open in August and I want to have my application strong and ready for then.

All help is appreciated and thanks for all the information on this site. So far it has been one of the biggest reasons I am where I am, and I couldn't thank all contributors enough for your insights.
