Why not ibanking in India and eventually get your masters in finance from a university in the US and hope that some bank will hire you. Why do you want to do banking with your degree in mechanical engineering why does it have to be Wall Street? How did you find out about this website?

Not possible with just an Indian degree. Get a graduate degree from USA or network you way into IB jobs (mostly located in Mumbai). Even in India, the BBs hire from top-tier engg/MBA schools.

Good luck

Yea may need some transition...I mean an IB would probably see a guy from India who majored in mechanical engineering and say why would he want to work here...his degree is in mechanical engineering. They may just think you are applying everywhere. I personally think maybe get into Princeton or Vanderbilts Master of Finance class could strengthen your chances. Or even working in banking a couple years in india then getting an mba in america at a top school.
