How to quit with a lateral?
Received a lateral And the furthest I could push the start date was the day after I get my bonus. How do I go about this with my current firm?
People generally give advance notice while transitioning out to help with them leaving and I would feel bad about just leaving my deal teams in the dust as I have developed relationships with them and don’t want to burn bridges.
But I don’t want my bonus to get cut and with student loans that’s a lot more important to me.
Do I just quit the day I get the wire transfer? Any suggestions on handling this? Again my new firm can’t budge on the start date they’ve already pushed it back enough.
Once bonus is in your account AND posted, you send an email and ghost current firm. You work on Wall Street, nobody cares about feelings.
Make sure your bonus is deposited into your account and fully clears. Don't tell anyone early and keep it super low key or run the risk of getting stiffed. Fuck these firms, and get your bag.
