How to rerecruit/ upgrade to a better bank

I recently got an offer from an okay bank but not one with good exits or really good deal flow, think like Scotia, Stifel, Lincoln, Truist level banks. I go to a non target so I'm happy to have something at a minimum but I'd like to eventually make my way to a really good MM or BB or even EB if possible. What can I do to help my chances when rerecruiting senior year and how do I prepare for it? Is it easier to get a year of experience and lateral? Basically, just wondering what to spend my time on between now and senior year when I try to rerecruit.

Always possible to work your way up. Assuming your offer was for SA, can't hurt to try rerecruiting and if that fails, try lateraling after 1-2 years. Most likely will cost you an extra analyst year or 2 but worth it if you really want it imo.

Rerecruiting (only will work if you have return offer) is prob the only way then. If you're in it for the long run, you can try working up to associate2 then lateral (might not guaruntee you don't have an extra year but that additional year might be slightly less hours).

Don't want to give a sense of false hope but anything is possible. Saw someone go from No name shop (2 years, analyst) --> Top MM (1 year, analyst) --> Top BB (associate on day 1). Never know what can happen.
