How to stop having one-way calls?

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong here but just started networking and a lot of people here mention how it shouldn’t be question after question on a call.

The problem is, whenever someone picks up the phone they say something along the lines of “yeah feel free to just fire questions my way,” “if you have any questions i’d be happy to answer them,” “ask me anything”

How do you transform the conversation to be less robotic/transactional?
