HR Background Check for Incoming Analysts

This is a throw away account and will be significantly more boring than what ppl were hoping for after reading the thread title.

I'm a senior and recently accepted an IB offer which has a start date this upcoming summer. The issue is that I'm not currently enrolled at the last school listed on my resume. For financial reasons, I got approval from that school to finish my general curriculum requirements elsewhere this semester and return next semester to graduate. My thought is that this is easily explainable to HR, they're going to see this when they run their background check, and it's worth reaching out to them to explain the situation.

Am I missing some downside associated with reaching out to them?
