lmao I heard it was in the 50's, so that's better than expected at least.

Got a few mates there.

Very much a lifestyle bank. Lots of passengers across the floor and lazy juniors just coasting. M&A in London has a culture of bone idle associates and is particularly bad.

Certainly from what I hear its not "trash" or a "shit bank". There are many who are far worse for culture and flow (eg. Nomura).

Few decent groups (both from friends there and seeing them on deals)

  • Levfin (called 'LAF') there
  • TMT (strong telco)
  • UKIB (had a big revamp with a new head of UK IB)
  • Financial Sponsors
  • ECM

Pay is typical tier 2 level. Lower than BBs at Analyst level for the base but on par above in terms of base with Citi/Barclays etc.

Exit ops depend on group. Lots of MidMarket PE exits with coverage often going to corp.

Sponsors M&A (London)

Doubt it's that good. Heard MDs at HSBC on average are pulling a fair bit below 7 figs
