I am a legitimate Asian Latino, should I bother with diversity or will people judge me negatively?
The title is pretty much what it says. I am a rising sophomore and I was planning on applying as a diversity candidate. However, I have an Asian last name and this recent IU Kelley stuff makes me feel like I am just going to get questioned and doubted everywhere, and it may just be better to apply regularly (as I go to a target, am a good student, and the rest). I don't want a negative connotation or reputation attached to my name and app. However, applying as diversity would obviously help. I would appreciate any insight and advice, particularly from those who are out of college and can think more rationally (and review apps/candidates). For the record, I'm between 25% and 50% Latino. This isn't a 1/64th thing.
