I Banking Interview Conten

Hi.

I have been reading on the forum boards and searching numerous websites for a concise list of all the topics that, should I know like a parrot, I will nail an internship/full time position with a BB. I have yet to find one. Even though there are some useful posts, none cover all the topics required, and certainly leave room for one to get screwed in an interview.

This thread will be an effort to put together a list of topics that provde for a fail-safe offer. I would appreciate it, and hope that others can contribute. I will start off:

1) DCF and Valuation methods 2) WACC 3) CAPM 4) Underwriting Process 5) IPO 6) LBO 7) Understanding of the various divisions and differences, product side and industry side 8) Basic ratios you find for all companies on google finance 9) Some background on the firm.

And that's all..for now

You can expand this list and be more specific:

i.e. with DCF/valuation methods, what are the pro's/con's to each. If you graphed the methods, how would you order the valuation number given (i.e. lowest to highest).

With background to firm, be able to explain why you'd pick that firm over another competitor (i.e. GS to MS).

Know your own background in and out. Be very concise, though to be more accurate, adapt your interview to your interviewers style.

4/5/6 aren't too important to the SA process, but it's good to have a general idea.
