I find it so funny that bankers and corp dev guys are in this endless circle of appeasement
Having been on both sides of this coin now, I find it so funny to learn that the “relationship managing” cycle is miserable for both sides, not just the bankers. The bankers are constantly grinding away on pitches, and when the corp dev guys receive these pitches, they have to analyze it and entertain the bankers even if they have no interest at all. Just an endless cycle of both sides trying to make each other happy 😂
MDs and head of corp devs laughing all the way to the bank not having read a word of the pitch.
meanwhile IB VPs will post here about the "garbage" work their junior team is producing when like you said, no one is reading their pages.
so much drama and stress for nothing.
Ahh yes, the "value add" junior bankers that add content for pg. 43 of the appendix.
As with all other industries, our "middle management" is just as bloated.
