I was thinking IB but . . .
First year MBA looking into summer internships and I was originally very interested in pursuing something in IB, but various contacts and recruiters and even myself believe that I would probably be more suited to sales and trading (sales side)
When I think of S&T i usually think of commodities, fx etc, but is there anything on the s&t side that maybe provides some of the industry coverage or possibly exit opportunities of IB? like maybe on the equity desk or debt origination?
capital market groups are essentially hybrid of s&t and ib, they do industry coverage, and lots of client interaction at all levels.. dcm/lev fin ->> mezz fund, etc is common if you want to move onto buyside later on
Equity research, commodities structured solutions perhaps
Excellent thanks guys
Commodities Structuring and Origination is a good one

why do they think you're not suited to IB out of interest (based on skill set and personality type)?
