IB and sponsorship after brexit
Guys, whats the situation in IB right now in terms of Visa if someone is starting ?
Especially asking EU citizens who recently finished their studied at universities like hec and lbs. If you get SA and convert to FT, do banks offer Visa ?
I understand the people who were here before brexit and got a pre-settled or settled status, they have nothing to worry about. Banks can still take some people from this pool of candidates but will eventually dry up as those folks are already at associate level
Now in terms of new analysts. Will banks only interview and hire UK citizens ? Or they sponsor everyone ?
I'm asking because they still ask about your status so wondering what their approach will be in the next few years
I don’t know about all banks, but the banks I talked to said they sponsor.
Plus, if you’re a top 50 world wide school, you can get HPI visa for at least 2 years on your own. So you don’t need sponsorship for analyst stint.
this visa is based on a bull-shit ranking. In France our higher studies system is different so it is full biased, uncomparable to UK,US,Asia. I just checked the ranking and the only one uni in the ranking is PSL ahah. Frenchs, we all know that PSL is definitely not where best students are...they are in engineering schools ( Polytechnique and more), business schools (hec, essec, escp, emlyon, edhec), political institues ( science po paris) and "normal schools" or ENS ; and all of these schools aren't universities or related to universities so they arent on the ranking xD.... Unfortunatelty, UK Gov is too dumb and miss Polytechniciens genius
UK government isn’t dumb, you are French and clearly entitled. The visa is a privilege not a right. You have to work for it not be born into it.
Visa isn’t for people in IB, visa doesn’t care about what you see as prestige or how many adolescents are interning at a random bank.
The rankings of the UK government is based on schools that consistently come top 50 based on multiple other ranking organizations - that rely on everything from number of citations from researchers to recognition from employers and return on investment.
It is not merely based on one degree program but the whole university.
