I'm set to apply to HR my resume and cover letter, but I can't seem to figure out how to craft my body email to HR along with the said documents. Is there a template available or is there a way I can write it to look good to HR and get a 1st round?

Just say something short and concise, HR probably won't read into that at all. Maybe something like: "To whom it may concern,
I am highly interested in X position, please find my attached resume, cover letter, etc. I can be contacted at (xxx)xxx-xxxx"
I can't imagine HR having an issue with that. If you spoke with someone at the firm and they referred you maybe mention that.
