Depends on what you want to move into. If your goal is BX's PE group, I'd say it's impossible. If you want to go to a LMM PE firm, then I'd say 70% likely assuming you've actually worked on deals and can interview well. There's also HF/Corp Dev M&A/AM/etc. that are options that are considered "buy-side" in the fact that you're making investment decisions. IB is only attractive because it gives you optionality after and part of those options are investment roles. There are thousands of PE/HF/CorpDev teams out there and not just BB IBers get those jobs. Just keep your head down and open to opportunities while also reaching out to headhunters and network.
