IB ft recruiting with low gpa
I am at a target going to intern at a MM (Wells, Jeffries, Mizuho) next summer. would it be possible to land a EB/GS/MS/JPM ft offer with a 3.6 GPA even if I network heavily?

Short answer - possibly, yes depending on networking and market. Also, jeff is significantly above wells and mizuho. I wouldn't even worry about it too much if its jeff, great place to be regardless of what they say on here.
As previous poster said, it will likely depend on the market. If there are open seats, you will get looks. If you are at jef can probably get looks from anywhere. Will be harder from the other two, but again entirely dependant on the market.
For FT, like you mentioned, networking is absolutely key so spend a good amount of time on that to get into those interview seats.
Don't sweat it too much. I got a job in M&A at a MM bank with a 2.7 GPA in finance at a non target. Honestly from what I've seen it make me kinda sick how much people care about prestige. You need average intelligence to work in this industry.
I know this is kinda an old thread but can I pm you about recruiting with a low gpa
Yes PM me

3.6 is not a low GPA. Focus on skills and experience.
Depends on the place, honestly. 3.6 at a target vs nontarget are totally different. Even between targets, think like Georgetown and UChicago, a 3.6 doesn't mean the same thing
recruited with a 3.6 from MM to EB. Focus on skills, resume, and summer internship
Can I PM you? I'll be interning at a MM this summer and thinking about FT recruiting. I've heard tips of people trying to network now in the spring. What do you think of that and how should I be phrasing it?
No

3.45 non target with boutique experience is mm realistic?
Will be uphill even for good MMs and they will grill the fuck out of why your GPA is so low
You think d1 student athlete gives it a pass?
The importance of GPA is so overblown. If you network enough, have more than 2 braincells, and can answer technicals the sky is your limit.
This isnt the 1960s when Steve Schwarzman could walk into DLJ after Yale without knowing what an annual report is, times have changed. GPA matters a lot these days unless you're lateraling with some experience
