Context: Will be headed to a BB next summer and need to decide on groups. I'm interested in exiting to something like TMT/HC/Consumer PE.
How much does the industry play into PE recruiting? For example, if my bank is very strong (deal flow) in TMT and weak in HC, should I aim for the TMT group even if I want to exit to a healthcare-focused PE fund? What if it was the other way around?
Would greatly appreciate any insights.
