IB Internship Networking: LinkedIn or Email?

hello everyone

Regarding cold emails, which would be be better/result in a response: LinkedIn message or straight up email?

If the latter, how did y'all go about finding their email addresses?

I got way better reply rates from email, far and away. Also, LinkedIn only gives you a certain amount of messages. Websites like ZoomInfo will let you search someone and get their company email. See if any of them give you a free trial.

I got my internship via Linkedin message. I sent a message to a MD at a boutique, then he gave me an email address to which I could send my resume and cover letter. Linkedin messages could be useful at small firms, but I think cold emailing would be more effective at bigger banks.
