IB Networking Now

Hey guys,

I had networked previously with my Alumni and have had some contacts. Since this is Aug, most of them are on vacation and I am not able to ask them for referrals

however i want to apply soon and not wait for their decision as Alumni contacts will be coming beg Sept

My question: In the application we have to mention any contacts. if I leave it blank for the moment and later on I ask my contacts, will that be fine OR I have to mention everything in the online application.

I think VPs and MDs must be having power to tell HR to find my application and give it some attention.

Your views monkeys?

I know I'd be wanting to jump out of the gate into recruiting hard, but since I don't know what type of relationship you have with these guys I would say if you think they're supporting you, as in not a shred of doubt that they were going to back you and pass on your resume, indicate on the app. who's referring you and write it into the cover letter. Otherwise, hold off and avoid getting burned and looking bad. As an aside, VPs and MDs do have power in bringing attention to your resume, I applied online yesterday to a top MM w/ guidance from a VP I was talking to there and boom 20 minutes later I get an email from an associate that's part of recruiting to schedule a phone screen -- Oh the power...

Wish it was that easy... just the beginning though of a long drawn out process so we'll see what happens.
