IB: non-traditional exit

Has any ever (or know anyone) who left FO IB for a support position? I guess the argument here would be better work-life balance but I was just curious to see if they regretted the decision in the end and how hard was it to get back into a FO position?

I know a guy who left the M&A team at a top BB for a legal/compliance to have more time for his girlfriend (now wife). I guess it worked out well and I know he does not regret it. It's just about priorities and your particular circumstances (there are couples who can survive an IB work for years, but maybe there are others who can't - and you need to choose what is more important to you if you are in that situation)
