IB Recent Transactions Research
Hey everyone!
Looking for help with one specific part of interview preparation. I'm trying to find a list of recent deals done by a firm with an eye towards high profile deals.
The problem I'm running into is that even most financial news sources don't list IB specific news but instead list every worthless blurb about, of, and by a firm. I don't particularly give a damn for my purposes what Hillary last said about said bank...I do care about what transactions they've been on lately.
For example, heres' the result of a WSJ search: http://blogs.wsj.com/moneybeat/tag/goldman-sachs/
Or if you try to research Barclays on Dealbook : http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/business/compa…
No NYTimes..., some speaker talking about "gender diversification" at Barclays has all of shit to do with what I'm trying to accomplish here.
If I try to research generally for headline transactions:
http://www.themiddlemarket.com/section/investment…
http://www.themiddlemarket.com/section/investment…
Nope, don't care about random bios and personnel movements.
I'm finding the same problem almost everywhere. It's impossible to effectively filter for Investment Banking deal announcements because everywhere you search, the website thinks that every news item that refers to the name of an investment bank is good enough to pop up.....including, I shit you not, news about recent Football games that took place at Bank of America stadium.
So for everyone on here who's a bit more experienced:
How DO I find a list of important transactions if I'm applying to a bank which doesn't post them on its website?
Bloomberg search with function MA, then filtering by bank.
Hahahahaha at Bank of America stadium coming up.....not a Panthers fan, eh?
