IB Salary UK
What are the investment banking salaries for MBA grads in the UK? Which universities should prospective MBA students target to land an IB job in the UK? Do they have a shot at IB jobs if they graduate from a Cambridge, Imperial or Warwick?
Firstly, a quick google would have answers to both your questions on the very first page, a key skill you need to learn before starting a job is being able to find answers to simple questions before asking your superiors, so please start getting into the habbit of trying to find the answer yourself before asking easy questions. Secondly, did you really just ask if someone would have a shot at IB if they came from three of the best universities in the country? I get you're just a student looking for advice but common man, think before you ask silly questions. Anyways, to help you out, please see below:
1) an MBA graduate (assuming they already have a couple of years IB experience before their MBA) would join as an Associate, the market standard for a first-year associate in London is £25k sign-on, £90k base, and 100% bonus. Further details on IBD London salaries are shown in the below link (It's extremely accurate).

2) regarding universities, you have your top target schools where banks constantly attend and recruit from (Cambridge, Oxford, LSE, Warwick, Imperial, UCL) and then you have your semi-targets where banks regularly attend and recruit from (Nottingham, Cass, Bristol, KCL, Exeter, Bath, Durham, St Andrews, Edinburgh).
Thanks for the detailed response. I appreciate it. Although, I was not able to find this online, does UK have something like a co-op wherein an existing MBA grad student can work part time(20 hrs) during college with a bank and gain experience? Is such sort of recruiting prevalent?
No you'd have to attend full-time mate
For MBAs those universities are not target - Stick to LBS, INSEAD, IESE
er... how is your answer to no. 2 relevant for MBAs? target schools are LBS, INSEAD and IESE.
gosh, why would someone do an MBA post IB to do IB again in UK of all places? I can understand in America where everyone loves MBA but here?
Why do you say that? Are MBAs not sought after in the UK? Do you think most of them end up in consulting in the UK post and MBA?
