IB Summer Analyst advice

I’m a junior at a target school and did not land a summer analyst internship in IB for next summer. I have a real estate lending role at DB secured, but given how valuable the true IB summer internships seem to be (in terms of breaking into IB), my new plan is to re-recruit next year - on the condition that I take an extra semester at school - for summer of 2025.

I have learned so much since last season and believe another shot at recruiting could have a different outcome.

Has anyone done this / have any advice? How soon is too soon to start networking for summer 2025 internships and are banks reluctant to consider a student applicant for a second time?
