IB Summer Analyst (Healthcare)

So it looks like I will be doing a summer gig at a healthcare M&A/PE hybrid shop. Am I going to be pigeon hold to this industry for FT opps?

The industry sounds interesting, more dynamic and challenging. So i might end up liking it. But would like to explore other sectors. I have a generalist IB internship my soph year but I'm going to a healthcare shop because they are more structured, more guys to learn from, and better deal flow. How do these industry specific gigs look on a resume for FT opps?

you kids should really stop worrying about being "pigeon-holed" skills you learn from ib/er/s&t/consulting are more transferrable than you think... especially if you're still an intern.

looks like you have answered the question urself - you had a generalist IB stint. all you need is to combine that, with your summer exp, and spin something together should you need to apply for other groups in the fall.

now go enjoy your last month before your internship workload slaps you in the face.
