IB vs. AM

What are people's thoughts on Goldman Sachs CIMD and groups like GSAM, especially with culture, pay, opportunities to exit, internal mobility? How would you compare this career path to IB? Would Upper MM IB or lower tier BB IB be a better option compared to GSAM?

What's the point of comparing GSAM to MM and BB IB? If you enjoy AM then stick with it. It seems like you're moreso concerned about the pay and overall career progression. IB and AM aren't even close to being similar to you just can't compare them.
