IBanking at boutique/MM soph year, then medical business development junior year
I'm currently a college junior at a target, and I just got an offer from a medical business development company in the southeast for an internship this summer. I previously interned at at a MM investment bank last summer. I would imagine that the best way to get into ibanking would be to do investment banking both summers, but I genuinely am interested in seeing business development and if it's a career path I would like to pursue. As long as I can bullshit something like, "I feel like this experience strengthens my resume since I have exposure to multiple fields and also understand the business mechanics of healthcare companies," then will I still be competitive if I want to apply for IBD as a full-time analyst?
bump any thoughts?
I'd be curious to know about this as well.
You would have been better off with a banking internship that could lead to a FT offer, which I'm sure you are well aware of. With that said, it sounds like a pretty good internship. Could be interesting if you are targeting HC IB.
The internship sounds like its a mixture of private equity and mgmt consulting, so I definitely feel like I'll learn skills applicable to ibanking especially with the PE stuff.
