IBD Full Time Recruiting Positioning
Seeking advice. Am in the fortunate position to have the opportunity to intern at a VC firm or an IB firm this fall semester. This summer, I was able to gain experience in PE. Wondering which positions me best for Full Time IBD recruiting. Ultimately, I want to get into VC, but realize that paying my dues in banking is how it'll likely have to go.
Essentially, looking for the safest route/internship that will maximize my possibility of landing a full-time IBD offer this Fall. From a bankers perspective, is there a material difference in an application between IB fall analyst or VC fall analyst?
This doens't address your question, but just to let you know, FT2020 recruiting has already started and you should already be applying (regardless of what you decide to go with). Sorry if you already knew, but based on how you were saying, I felt like you might not be aware.
He may be a rising sophomore not a rising junior. But if a rising junior, agree, a lot of places are done or mid process.
Well I assumed rising senior if he's expecting to "landing a full-time IBD offer this Fall".
Oh wow yeah didn't see that. My bad
Would do IB, it jumps out on a resume more and if you're trying to start in IB then get as many directly relevant skills as you can.
Agree with above, FT recruiting has already started and will ramp up in the next 2 weeks as offers are decided... so accept one, put it on your resume, and get applying
