If anyone can drop some knowledge about UK too.
I'd be very interested in an UK overview as well.
Assuming one would do an internship at GS/MS/JPM in Frankfurt this summer, would you go for FT recruiting in London or apply for an off-cycle internship in early 2018?
Thank you!
If I were in your position, I'd try to pursue FT either in London or Frankfurt. Why are you thinking about going to London over Frankfurt?
Thank you! I was thinking the same, but I am still unsure as to whether there will be places left next summer after deducting those who have converted their internship.
I do not necessarily want to move to London right away, however, I would like to live some time in London sooner or later, be it just for a year or so. I guess I might be able to lateral to UK offices after 2 years, nevertheless, career progression might be easier when directly starting in UK, so I am a little undecided on that matter.
There's always a quota of places for FT analysts that have not done a summer internship within the same bank but obviously it's better and easier to just transition from your current internship into FT.
I see your point, if you want to move to London I guess it's better do it before 2019 when Brexit will be complete as it is unknown what the hiring process will be like after that.
