I don't know much about banking in HK but HSBC definitely has stronger ties and relationships in the region. Besides, RBS is still pretty much a zombie bank. You never want to work for the government, if you can avoid it. Good luck!

Of course you join HSBC... it's called the Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corporation for a reason. While it's not BB, they have a lot of relationships in the region through their wealth management and retail banking chains.

But aren't they pretty new and weak in the investment banking industry?

related to this... RBS has been 'zombie bank/restructuring' globally for more than a year now as well as doing some small things to recover and fix their sheets... any thoughts on their future? i'm also interested in the RBS/HSBC decision... thanks

also, delmichael did you get a general rotational through all their arms or an IBD specific internship? i never applied because they didn't seem to have any IBD specific roles or rotations in the short term.
